“Luau” might as well be Hawaiian for “fun,” right? Bright. Colorful. Free-spirited. A luau is flexible enough to celebrate a birthday, an engagement, a baby shower, a retirement, or a day that ends in y. The tropical vibe draws in your guests, and a little island music gets the party going. Break up winter with an indoor luau or celebrate the sun with a luau pool party.
We’re here to help keep your prep as laid back as the aloha culture. Our luau-themed invitations offer you a variety of designs that read “tropical island,” and all of them are free for you to email, share online via Facebook or WhatsApp, or download to print at home or at a local printing service. Customize your invite with your party specifics and explore our menus of font styles and colors and sizable stickers to add to the one-of-a-kind look. Check out our event management features, like RSVP tracking, that keep your guest list current and easy to see at a glance.
Artificial leis are a luau must, and they’re readily available at low cost. A few pineapples and extra leis arranged on the serving table are all the decor you need for a casual version of a luau. Or go all out with tiki torches, hula skirts, and Hawaiian shirts! Online and local party suppliers have extensive lines of banners, garlands, balloons, tableware, and string lights to create the luau you have in mind.
And the food? There has to be a grill involved. Try searing pineapple rings or peach halves along with the usual burgers, steaks, or chicken. Spam is a favorite in the islands, but hot dogs or brats are good stand-ins if you’re not up to that challenge. The quintessential Hawaiian drink is the Mai Tai, and beverages featuring pineapple and coconut are luau standards, with or without alcohol.
For a colorful, engaging party atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with a luau. Smiles are almost guaranteed, and isn’t that what makes it a party? Aloha!
