“This item was purchased for my special needs 6 year old daughter to work on stacking and sorting. She has visual impairments - so bright colors are great. She has low tone - so larger object for grasp is better than small objects. Large size bowl to stack each Tobble in allows her to be successful without having to be precise and so it provides motivation to keep going and makes my job as a parent trying to aid her with the toys that she plays with easier. ”

    Another very sticky set :(

    Posted 07/16/2021 by

I bought this for my son and he LOVED it! However, I had it stored in a plastic bin for 1 year and recently brought it out for my nephew to play with. ALL of the upper portions of the spheres became EXTREMELY sticky!! So much so that if I squeeze it, it will stick and hang from my hand! So disappointing because it was expensive and would've liked to have used for more than one child.

    Note from Fat Brain Toys:

While the Tobbles do have a unique, grippable texture, they should never feel sticky like this. If this is happening to your Tobbles, or if anything you order from us turns out to be broken or defective in any way, please give us a call at 1-800-590-5987. Whether it's replacing it, giving you a refund, or giving you store credit, we'll do whatever we can to make your situation less sticky!

The orbs are weighted, which is what gives the structure some complexity for your little one. My boy (19 months) is sometimes able to complete the structure, but his favorite thing to do is tear it back down. He's just in the phase. But overall we are very pleased with both the enjoyment he is getting from this toy, as well as the challenge that it presents for him.

My child likes to play with it, but I have to keep it away for now as it's really heavy, it doesn't stack up right, so she gets frustrated, she's 20 months, so I'll bring it out at 2 years old.

    Note from Fat Brain Toys:

We don't want you to have to wait for your child to grow into the toy you just bought. If anything you order turns out to be unsafe or inappropriate for your child's age in any way, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-590-5987, or head over to our Returns and Exchanges page. Great learning adventured for my 1 yr old.

    Challenging but fun

This is challenging for my one year old, but he loves it and keeps trying. He also loves kicking them.

Material Got Stick after First Use

    Sticky Playroom

The Tobbles look very cool, and we loved the idea of weighted balancing/stacking activity! The first time my son played with them, and one made it into his mouth, we started noticing the half of the tobble that should be somewhat "tacky" for the purpose of stacking, was straight up STICKY. Every fuzz in sight was stuck to it once it had dried off. We've tried cleaning, washing and it has only mad it worse. We can now tell which tobbles have been in his mouth because they become extremely sticky. At first we only took the stick one away from him, but it is obviously a problem with the whole, set so they have been confiscated indefinitely. Is this a norm that others experience, or is this a defect? It is concerning that the material is having this reaction! How would we ever keep this toy well cleaned, if simply water is the tobbles nemesis?

    Note from Fat Brain Toys:

This is an issue we've seen before, but only once or twice in all the years we've been selling this item. If this happens to your Tobbles set, please give us a call at 1-800-590-5987, or email us at We'll have a fresh, non-sticky replacement sent your way in no time at all! Or, we'll be happy to exchange it for something else, give you store credit, or give you a full refund.

Bought this for a 1yr old, so he could grow and learn. He loves the balls and the stackable capabilities, but cant complete it fully as this toy is for a 2 yr old. Challenging him daily!

This product seems pretty well made, and looked interesting to my 2-year-old grandson; however, he seemed uninterested after a minute or 2. If you want to make this successful, please provide instructions about special uses that can help.

    Note from Fat Brain Toys:

It’s impossible to be absolutely sure that your child is going to love your gift. And that’s okay! Not as expected

    Posted 12/27/2020 by

I was expecting these balls to balance much better than they do. The description makes it sound as if, as long as the balls are stacked in the correct order, they will balance - no matter what. They do not. They have to be stacked very carefully in order for the stack to not fall over, immediately. Not sure what ages this toy should be aimed at. Too hard for young toddlers to do correctly and not very interesting for older ones. The side-effects of the toy (crashing to the floor, balls spinning erratically), are more interesting than the actual design of the toy.

    Note from Fat Brain Toys:

We are always aiming for 100% customer satisfaction. If anything you order from us doesn’t meet your expectations in any way at all, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-590-5987, or head over to our Returns and Exchanges page. We’ll be happy to exchange it for something new, give you store credit, or possibly even give you a full refund!

This was a birthday present for my two year old granddaughter. She loved it! We stacked and knocked down and stacked all over again. She really enjoyed it. Her four old sister got the silliness of making a crooked tower and loved it too.

My toddler is still working his way through all his birthday gifts, but *I* have to say, I love Tobbles! I love that the balance and weight of the balls encourages you (OK, the kid) to learn about centers of gravity and how shifting one ball's center of gravity impacts the stability of the entire piece. It's a nice-looking, nicely-weighted toy that I think is well-timed for my son's development (he's still obsessed with building stacks of blocks -- this will be the next step), and I look forward to playing with it and him in the coming months!

Our son loves this product. He gets frustrated sometimes that he can't just stack any ball in any way but it's a great tool to have to teach him patience, size relation, and fun.

I bought the toy for my nephew's son, who is believed to have autism. They live in another state, but I'm told he took to it immediately. He's 19 months old and they have been working on stacking things with him.

My son (who is 2.5 years old) first saw this toy in a kid's store in Bermuda and went straight to it to play. Since we've had it in our house he plays with it a few times a day. He loves stacking it, knocking it down, seeing how wobbly he can get it without it tipping over. The quality is fantastic. We love it so much we bought two as Christmas gifts this year!

Bought these for my two year-old grandson. The parts fit nicely in his hands and he is getting the idea of stacking in order. Only wish they were made of softer material, since they are in shape of balls and he wants to throw them.

My Review of Tobbles. It was exactly what I thought I was ordering. My grandson loves it.

My grandson has some sensory issues and is running a little behind on some things he should be doing for his age. Any way I can help him with this, I am willing to do. These toys were recommended by a special education teacher so we are just in the beginning stages of trying them.
